Students who join the weLEAD program will gain valuable career readiness skills by developing a resume, participating in a mock job interview, and building a professional LinkedIn profile and network. They will also tackle real-world challenges and have the opportunity to apply for paid internships, giving them hands-on experience to prepare for their future careers.
weLEAD CS is Kentucky’s new virtual computer science career academy where students will get ready for the highest-paying, fastest-growing tech jobs in Kentucky. Many tech jobs will have the opportunity to work from home.
Get ready for the future as weLEAD CS brings the best in the tech workforce to your virtual classroom. Employers will connect with students for virtual job shadowing and career coaching.

These courses are transferable to any Kentucky public college or university and may meet general education requirements.
Students receive an MSU student ID which allows access to:
- The MSU Library – online and in-person
- Tutoring services – online and face-to-face
- Concerts, student activities, performances, sporting events, and the recreation center on the Morehead Campus
Students who choose to attend MSU after high school receive:
- Priority awarding of academic scholarships
- Priority registration for housing assignments
- Priority registration for fall 2025 courses
