Stephanie Wilson serves as the Director of Virtual Learning for New Horizons Academy, where she leads with a deep commitment to personalized, high-quality education for every student. A certified teacher in the state of Kentucky, Stephanie brings over a decade of experience in public education, program leadership, and instructional innovation. At New Horizons Academy, she oversees the design and delivery of flexible, accredited virtual learning pathways that empower students to thrive—whether they are homeschooled, enrolled through their district, or seeking a nontraditional route to graduation.
What sets Stephanie’s leadership apart is her unique perspective as both an educator and a former homeschool parent. Having homeschooled her own three children, she understands firsthand the needs, values, and challenges families face when choosing alternative learning environments. Her work is grounded in compassion, experience, and a belief that every student deserves a path that honors their story. Under her guidance, New Horizons Academy continues to grow as a trusted bridge between families and districts across Kentucky.

Heather Hundley serves as a Student Success Coordinator for New Horizons Academy, where she blends her love of mathematics with a strong commitment to student growth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s in Counseling from Morehead State University, bringing a rare combination of academic expertise and student-centered support to her work. At New Horizons Academy, she guides learners through every stage of the virtual experience—supporting onboarding, leading weekly live sessions, helping students stay aligned with their Individualized Learning Plans, and preparing them for Kentucky state assessments.
Heather’s approach is shaped by more than 15 years in the classroom, during which she taught courses ranging from Algebra I to AP Statistics. She is passionate about making math accessible, engaging, and confidence-building for every student, no matter their starting point. Beyond her professional role, she enjoys traveling with her family, visiting amusement parks, and staying connected to her lifelong love of dance. A coffee enthusiast and crime-show fan, she brings both dedication and warmth to her work. Heather is proud to support the mission of New Horizons Academy and is committed to helping students thrive—academically and beyond.

Fatemia Fuson
Virtual Math Coach

Fatemia Fuson serves as a Virtual Math Coach at New Horizons Academy, bringing with her a strong academic background and more than 15 years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, as well as a Master’s and Education Specialist (EdS) in School Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. With expertise in both mathematics and student support, she is committed to helping learners grow in confidence and skill.
In her role, Fatemia draws on her experience teaching a range of high school math courses, including dual credit College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus. She is passionate about making math accessible and empowering, and she looks forward to collaborating with the staff and students at New Horizons Academy to support meaningful academic success. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling with her family, reading, and completing hand embroidery crafts. Fatemia is excited to be part of the NHA community and to help students thrive in their virtual learning journey.

Carrie Harmon

Carrie Harmon serves as a Virtual Social Studies Coach at New Horizons Academy, bringing more than a decade of classroom experience and a strong commitment to student engagement. She has taught social studies content across grades 6–12, including AP Psychology, and has led multiple student leadership programs such as Mock Trial, the Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA), and the Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA). Her background reflects both instructional expertise and a passion for guiding students beyond the textbook.
Carrie’s greatest interest lies in teaching Civics and Citizenship, where she empowers students to understand their role in a democratic society and find confidence in their own voices. She is excited to contribute to the mission of New Horizons Academy and to support students in becoming informed, thoughtful citizens. Outside of teaching, Carrie enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Mark Harmon serves as the Virtual STEM Coach at New Horizons Academy, bringing more than a decade of classroom experience and a deep passion for STEM education. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Math and Science Education, a Master’s in Educational Technology, and dual Education Specialist degrees in Educational Leadership. Throughout his career, Mark has coached high-performing student teams in STLP, TSA, LEGO Robotics, VEX Robotics, and Girls Who Code, leading groups to recognition at regional, state, and national levels.
Mark is committed to designing authentic, hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. He is excited to support students in their academic and personal growth and to help them discover their own potential in the digital learning environment.

Shannah Reynolds

Shannah Reynolds serves as the Virtual Science Coach at New Horizons Academy, bringing more than ten years of experience in education and a strong foundation in multiple scientific disciplines. She has taught chemistry, biology, physical science, earth and space science, forensic science, and microbiology, giving her a broad perspective on how students learn and connect with science. Shannah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular and Microbial Biology, as well as a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Secondary Science.
Shannah is passionate about sharing the wonder of science with her students and aims to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of lifelong learning. When she is not teaching, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and dedicating hours to gardening and landscaping. An avid reader, she especially loves exploring historic libraries and independent bookstores around the world. Shannah is proud to support the mission of New Horizons Academy and looks forward to helping students thrive in their scientific learning journey.

Bridgett Taulbee

Bridgett Taulbee serves as a ELA Coach for New Horizons Academy, bringing 23 years of experience and a deep commitment to helping students grow as readers and writers. She has supported learners across K–12 through roles such as Literacy Coach, Kentucky Writing Project Instructional Coach, and Response to Intervention Lead, empowering both students and educators to build strong foundational skills. A proud graduate of Morehead State University, Bridgett is dedicated to making literacy engaging and accessible in both virtual and traditional settings.
Bridgett is passionate about fostering a lifelong love of learning, whether she is coaching teachers, leading professional development, or guiding students through the writing process. Outside of her work, she stays busy as a devoted mother to five children and can often be found cheering at baseball games and track meets. She enjoys spending time outdoors camping and swimming, and she is always ready to dive into a good book. Bridgett is excited to support the mission of New Horizons Academy and to help students thrive through the power of literacy.

Tonya Wagoner serves as the Virtual World Language Coach at New Horizons Academy, bringing more than 27 years of experience and a deep passion for language learning. She holds a degree in French Education with a minor in German from Berea College, along with advanced studies in Reading and Writing and Educational Leadership. Tonya currently teaches ESL and world languages remotely, where she is committed to making language accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all learners.
Tonya’s love of language extends well beyond the classroom. She is a published author in Spanish, an avid knitter who creates blankets for family and charitable donations, and an adventurous foodie who enjoys exploring new flavors and cuisines. She also enjoys French cinema, classic British rock music—especially The Beatles—and traveling with her husband. At home, she treasures time with her Yorkshire Terrier, her Calico cat, and her mother. Tonya is excited to contribute her experience and enthusiasm to the New Horizons Academy community.

Rhonda Bellairs

Rhonda Bellairs serves as a Mathematics Coach for New Horizons Academy, bringing extensive experience as an educator, tutor, coach, and administrator dedicated to strengthening student confidence and success in K–12 mathematics. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University, along with a Master’s degree and Rank I certification in Educational Leadership and Supervision of Instruction from Eastern Kentucky University. Throughout her career, Rhonda has served as a mathematics department chair, taught multiple high school math courses, provided targeted intervention, and led individualized ACT and GED preparation for learners with diverse needs.
Rhonda’s work is driven by a commitment to helping students who benefit from alternative approaches to mathematics instruction. Through her organization, Making Math Magic, LLC, she has partnered with states and school districts to support teachers and build strong conceptual understanding in K–8 mathematics, preparing students for success in Algebra and beyond. Most recently, she served as a Learning Support Specialist in Savannah, Georgia, where she provided focused assistance in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. Rhonda is excited to bring her expertise to New Horizons Academy and to empower students through meaningful, accessible math learning.

Andrea Ferguson

Andrea Ferguson serves as a Virtual ELA Coach at New Horizons Academy, bringing more than 19 years of experience and a deep passion for reading and writing. She earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Rank I degrees from Morehead State University, specializing in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English, as well as Administration and Curriculum Instruction. Throughout her career, Andrea has taught English in grades 6–12, Fine Arts, and Creative Storytelling, and has also served as an Assistant Principal at the elementary level.
Andrea is committed to helping students grow as confident readers, writers, and thinkers in the virtual learning environment. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and relaxing with her pets. She is excited to be part of the New Horizons Academy team and to support students as they discover their voice through language and literature.
