What’s Available

NHA students have the opportunity to participate in clubs and leadership opportunities such as Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA), eSports, Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) and Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA).

KYA is a dynamic program where students participate in a model state government, taking on roles such as legislators, lobbyists, and media representatives. Through this immersive experience, students develop critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills.

How It Works for Virtual Students:

Preparation: Collaborate online to research and draft legislative bills or prepare for other roles.

Conference Participation: Engage in a 3-day in-person conference held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville, KY, where students debate bills, participate in elections, and experience the legislative process firsthand. Travel is required for this portion.

Fees: Participation involves a fee covering registration, lodging, and meals. Specific amounts are determined annually. Financial assistance may be available through need-based scholarships.

KUNA is a unique and inspiring experience where students represent countries as ambassadors at a mock United Nations. Through speeches, debates, and cultural displays, students build leadership skills, global awareness, and confidence.

How It Works for Virtual Students:
Students collaborate online to prepare for the conference.
Delegates research their assigned country and propose solutions to global issues.
Final events are held in person, and students who participate will need to travel.
